Why This Course

Mental Health in US Private Practice: A Critical Gap

US private practitioners in aesthetics and weight management are often the first healthcare professional a patient sees about concerns with a significant mental health component. This course equips you to recognise, respond, and refer safely.

Eating Disorders & GLP-1 Risk

GLP-1 receptor agonists are contraindicated in active anorexia nervosa. Atypical anorexia — at normal BMI — is frequently missed in weight management settings. FDA guidance and APA DSM-5-TR criteria are covered.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Up to 15% of aesthetic clinic patients may have BDD. Prescribing without screening can worsen the condition. This course covers APA DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and HIPAA-compliant referral pathways.

Mandatory Reporting Duty

US practitioners have mandatory reporting obligations under state law and HIPAA. Knowing when and how to act — including duty to warn and duty to protect — is a legal requirement in all 50 states.
